Content Creator/Social Media Associate

What you’ll do 🔧


We’re looking for a TikTok enthusiast who has experience creating short-form videos that resonate! Artists, musicians, and small business owners are a few of our primary audiences, so there’s a lot of opportunity to have fun with this. If you have an idea, we want to empower you to make it happen. When you’re not creating TikTok content, you’ll be carrying out social listening across social platforms to identify actionable trends for the marketing team. You’ll also have an opportunity to help out with managing our influencer program if that’s something that interests you. This role will work closely with our Social Media Lead.


Social media is special at Universe because we have the opportunity to interface frequently with our creators. They are all diverse and truly one-of-a-kind. We are proud of this! Inclusive thinking is a must.

Responsibilities


Content Production (this will be the main focus of your role!): You’ll be expected to ideate and produce ~5 TikToks/week and maintain a TikTok content calendar. This is flexible depending on the effort and time it takes to execute on your concepts. i.e. If you can only get three done, but they’re all outstanding, we’re a-okay with that. You should be comfortable in front of the camera because for the most part the talent will be you. 😎 We expect you will help with TikTok ads from time to time as well.


Note: Our Social Media Lead will be available to help brainstorm concepts and ideas with you, but we’re planning to place a lot of trust in what you feel like is the ‘right’ move. We’ve done some experimenting on TikTok, but we’re completely open to exploring different directions - in fact, this is encouraged. You can check out our current TikTok account here.


Social Strategy: In addition to producing TikTok content, you’ll also work on mapping out a larger social strategy in tandem with our Social Media Lead. This will involve establishing content buckets, channel prioritization decisions, and setting clear goals.


Social Listening: You’ll be asked to scour TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Reddit, etc. on a semi-regular basis for trends that the marketing team can take action on.


Community Management: You’ll monitor comments on our organic social posts + social media ads and keep an eye on our social inboxes.

Who you are 👀


We’re looking for someone who has 1-2 years of TikTok content creation under their belt with proven success.


We’d love it if you had 1-2 years working on a B2C marketing team. Bonus points if you’ve marketed to creatives in your past role(s).


Knowledge of Adobe video editing software. You should know your way around Adobe Premiere and/or After Effects because you’ll be doing the bulk of your own editing. Our designers will help out with editing from time-to-time if the idea warrants it.


Knowledge of social media management platforms (Sprout, Hootsuite, Later, etc.).


We’re looking for someone with enthusiasm and perseverance. We understand our TikTok/social media success won’t appear overnight. Social media is all about continually testing, and being excited about what those tests might materialize! If you have this attitude, you will be successful on our team.
